Do you know that poverty is a disease just as ignorance is. Poverty can make a man angry, extremely angry that he becomes a problem to himself and his society. Poverty can make a man useless, it can turn a man to a drunkard, a kidnapper or a criminal out of frustration. Most people don't wish to do bad things but poverty led them to it just to eat, just for survival and for eternity. Poverty makes people lie so much that truth irritate them.
Poverty can make a man abuse his family. Batter his wife and neglect his children emotionally and financially. Most women who are still managing their bad marriages do so because they lack money to take care of themselves and children after the breakup. Some, poverty made them marry rich men to alleviate themselves at least. Some do so not for love but for money. Poverty makes young girls sale their bodies for a certain price just to survive. Poverty is evil, it is deep. It turns a grown up woman to a girl and a family man to a boy. Most people just have to manage shit from people because they have no money or something to help them get money. They become useless, clueless, dependent and frustrated for the rest of their lives until they finally get saved.
The effects of poverty are so numerous, I can't explain them all. Time won't let me. Below are the ways one can escape poverty.
Education: Go to school, you may not get the reward now but you will get to appreciate it later.
Acquire knowledge and skills: know how to cook, know how to communicate, learn how to sew, have knowledge and skills, then apply it to make money.
Get a job: you can look for a job according to your level of education and experience. Not only white collar jobs, you can do menial jobs.
You have money now, invest: a little time, you might be rich, a little time all the money is gone. Build houses, buy lands, have a farm, invest in agriculture, invest in real estate. Build houses and put it up for rent. Build a hotel and motel, a food joint or a relaxation centre. Lands don't depreciate. You will make money and leave it for your generations unborn except it is sold out.
Save for the future: don't eat all in one day, save a little.
