So, I have met many ladies who said they can't be with younger men because they won't respect them, I usually ask, ''so you want to be with an older man, so how do you want him to respect you?'' They go dumbfounded.
I have dated older women(few years older than me) before and I am not saying every woman should fancy a younger guy, but if you are a woman and you can't date or marry a younger man because you won't respect him, then you are an enabler of patriarchy and you support male chauvinism.
The idea that a man must be older than a woman is enabled by jingoistic sentiments.
It's the same idea that a man must be better than his wife; it's the same idea that a man must earn better, it's the same idea that a woman must not outdo his husband, all for his woman to respect him.
These things are deeply related. If you won't marry a younger man because you can't respect him, it's as good as saying that you can't marry a man who earns less than you because you won't respect him. Respect should be based on personality, not age, class, riches or whatever.
